my mom reminded me the other day about my blue coat. i bought it last year because i wanted a bright coat...and j crew had some really great options. i bought 3 different jackets, one red, one yellow, and then this blue one. i always imagined that it would be red...but when i tried them all stole my heart.

the best thing about this jacket, is that it's really cute...AND really warm. it was about 25 degrees yesterday, and we walked almost two miles to our friends house to watch the giants football game, and then head to dinner at minetta tavern (and yes, i will post about that because it's touted as the "best burger in nyc" so i have to fill you all in.)

i was toasty warm the whole way.

it did help that i had on leggings, leg warmers, boots, and a super cute sweater (that you can't see.)  i love leggings. and these are my favorite. they have tummy control, and are actually part of dkny's shapewear collection. i have 3 pairs and i rotate them every week. a "must have."

i also really love these boots. i got them at nordstrom's while i was in chicago...and i think that everyone needs a good pair of flat riding boots. when you get a cognac color, you can wear them with black or brown! actually, i just lied.  brown and black are totally ok to mix these days...regardless of the brown color.

the final touch of this look was the bag i got from lucky. i know, i couldn't believe that lucky had such a cool, nice bag. the brand has really reinvented themselves in the past few years, and they are targeting a much younger and hipper customer. (me, case in point :))  i can't find the exact bag, but i got it at macy's about a year ago. here is a link to the online assortment of bags now. there are some even cuter ones now!
